Nordic Walking
a gentle way to whole-body fitness
Give your whole body a workout at 1,000 metres above sea level: Nordic Walking, the gentle form of fitness, combined with the pristine alpine world of the Hochkönig.
The mountain world surrounding Dienten is a popular area for Nordic Walking – a special form of power walking with the use of poles. At first sight, it doesn’t appear to be particularly strenuous, but when it comes down to it, it is a fantastic way to burn off fat. Because of its very focused use of the arm muscles, Nordic Walking is actually 50 percent more effective than regular walking. The muscles in the arms, shoulders, chest, stomach and back are all involved in the workout.
The intact countryside and the rich variety of trails in and around Dienten provide the ideal setting in which to give this trendy new sport a try. And the Vitalhotel Post serves as a perfect base, where we have more than enough poles to lend out to our guests at no extra charge. Our “hiking queen”, Barbara, will give you the very best tips on how to walk correctly with the poles.
