Salzburg Open-Air Museum, Grossgmain
60 original farm buildings plucked from five centuries of regional history, enchanting farm gardens, an impressive multivision show, along with demonstrations of local handicrafts, guarantee a fascinating outdoor experience. And awaiting our littlest visitors to the Salzburg Open-Air Museum in Grossgmain is also an adventure playground.
Mining Museum, Leogang
On display at this museum is everything related to the theme of mining. You will also find rare silver coins, panel paintings of mining’s patron saints, Gothic sculptures and precious minerals.

Mining Museum and Historic Mine, Mühlbach am Hochkönig
Testimony to a 5000-year-old mining tradition which left a profound mark on Mühlbach until 1976. Guided by an experienced miner, you will be able to experience the history of mining first-hand. Aside from a fascinating exhibition with numerous artifacts, you can also go into the historic mine shaft itself – definitely something not to be missed. Opening Times: Thursday to Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., tour of the mine at 4:00 p.m. (begins at the museum).
Vehicle & Vintage Car Museum, Kaprun
A private collector brought together these beautiful and, above all, fascinating examples of the history of automobile manufacturing. 150 exhibits, including such rarities as the world’s biggest convertible (with seats for 23 people) guarantee that this outing will be a great success.

Heritage House-Ski Museum, Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Do you want to see how ski tourism began in the Pinzgau some 100 years ago? Then the Heritage House in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is definitely the place for you. 300 exhibits document the development of skiing, demonstrating that those skis of old are definitely not forgotten.

Karl Heinrich Waggerl Haus, Wagrain
This famous author, best known for his portrayal of Salzburg dialect, lived here for 50 years, writing many of his works at this house in Wagrain. The museum commemorates Waggerl’s life and works, with the original rooms he lived in still there for you to visit.

Bramberg Museum
This museum is housed in the “Wilheminengut”, one of the oldest farmhouses in the town of Bramberg. On display there is one of the biggest mineral collections in the province of Salzburg. You can also purchase traditional souvenirs at the Salzburger Wollstadel.

Pinzgau Mineral Museum & Shop, Wald im Pinzgau
The famous mineral collector, Kurt Novak, fulfilled a life-long dream with this museum. And now the public at large can admire his spectacular finds as well. Especially noteworthy are the numerous parageneses (essentially, mineral communities) – a variety of small mineralogical sensations.

Pinzgau Heritage Museum, Schloss Ritzen, Saalfelden
On the 1200 m² of exhibition space at the Pinzgau Heritage Museum, you will find a mineral exhibition, finds dating from the region’s early history, details on geology, hunting, religious folk art and a collection of Nativity Scenes.

Castle Goldegg (and Pongau Heritage Museum)
Goldegg Castle was built in the 14th century and features wood-paneled rooms and a magnificent Knights’ Hall. On display in the Heritage Museum are antique country furniture, folk costumes, traditional Pinzgau “Perchten” costumes, old barbers’ and surgeons’ instruments, and other items from days past.
