Day 1 / Arrival and welcome, overnight stay at Landhotel Schafhuber

Individual travel to Hinterthal and Landhotel Schafhuber!
We would be glad to pick you up with our hiking bus from the railway station in Saalfelden (FREE OF CHARGE).
Day 2 / Tour based at Hotel Schafhuber:
Maria Alm – Post Alm – Natrun – Jufen - Hinterthal
Beautiful introductory tour with a gentle climb from the town center of Maria Alm, via the Post Alm and up to the Natrun (elev. 1,177 m). We then continue along a self-guided forest trail to Gasthof Jufen. Passing a wildlife feeding station and crossing alpine pastures, we then commence our descent. After hiking past the Stöcklbauer, we come to the main highway, which we will go ahead and cross. We then continue along the right bank of the Urslau, a beautiful pathway that leads us to Hinterthal.

Day 3 / Hike from Landhotel Schafhuber to Dienten and Vital Hotel Post:
Hinterthal – Triefen – Poschalm – Pichlalm – Filzensattel – Puregg –Dienten
We will begin this day with a leisurely hike to the “Triefen” natural monument (a spring that emerges from the rocks). We then continue along forestry route No. 431 – a tractor lane, with now leads us through the forest until we come to the next forestry road. Passing the Poschalm, we follow narrow path No. 436, which takes us a little further into the valley. We then take alpine roads Nos. 401/436, leading us up into the mountains until we come to high moors – just prior to the Pichlalm. From that point, we head in the direction of the Filzensattel on path No. 68. We will cross the highway in order to join forestry road No.50, following this as far as the Puregg turn-off – below the house, we head south and come to path No.52, which will lead us through a small canyon and into the valley.

Day 4 / Tour based at Vital Hotel Post:
Arthurhaus – Four Huts – Erichhütte – Vital-Hotel Post
At 9 o’clock we will begin our day with a ride on the public hiking bus (post bus) to the Arthurhaus (elev. 1,520 m) – the ride takes about 50 minutes. We will hike along a trail that drops gently into Riedingtal Valley. The climb that follows spans around 120 vertical meters and brings us to the Four Huts. Once at the top of this hill, we will walk along trail No. 436, at the foot of the Hochkönig Massif, until we reach the Erichhütte (1,580 m) – our descent now takes on trail No. 99 to the Bockkluftweg (a self-guided nature trail), which we stay on until we come to the Wirtsalm. Crossing a mountain road, a relaxing hiking path (No. 65) now takes us back to the village of Dienten.

Day 5 / Tour based at Vital Hotel Post:
Dientner Sattel – Karbachalm – Schneeberg – Sunnhütl – Bürgl Alm – Dienten Village
The hotel’s own hiking bus will take you to the Dientner Sattel (elev. 1,380 m). Following flat forest path No. 77, we will come to forestry road No. 75A, which we will follow as far as the Karbachalm. Right next to the summit terminal at the Karbachalm we will head up the mountain to the left on forest path No. 15 – passing Mühlbach’s old ski hut and continuing to the summit terminal of the Schneeberg Lift (elev. 1,921 m). A short detour to the second Schneeberg summit will return us to path No. 15, which will take us past the Klausalmkreuz. Our journey now continues on path 57 A to the Sünnhüttl, from where we then take path No. 63, which leads us to the Wastlhöhe and Bürgl Alm. In order to avoid a direct (and very steep) descent back to the village, we will take forestry road No. 63 down towards the valley – the last stretch, path No. 15, once again takes us steeply down through the forest and across meadows to the alpine village of Dienten.

Day 6 / Tour based at Vital Hotel Post:
Vital Hotel Post – Sommerer Alm - Lettenalm – Klingspitz –
Reicheralm – Grünegg – Vital Hotel Post
Leaving from the hotel, we make our way to the mountain church and hiking path No. 440, which will lead us on a climb via the Sommerer Alm to the Lettenalm, Grinnköpfl and Marbachhöhe. After a somewhat flat stretch atop the Marbachhöhe, the trail divides below the summit – we will make a direct ascent on trail No. 14 A and, after about 30 minutes, we will have reached the Klingspitz (elev. 1,988 m). Our return route takes us along the same path for a short while, until we come to the turn-off for the Reicheralm (trail No. 11). Once at the Reicheralm, we take forestry path No. 54 to the Grüneggbauer, trails No. 50 and then No. 53 B, which returns us via the church and back to the village.

Day 7 / Hike from Vital Hotel Post to Landhotel Schafhuber:
Christernreith – Schranbachalm – Steinerne Mandln – Lohningalm-
Hundstein – Langegg – Thoraualm – Hintermoos
The hotel bus will take us to Unterberg and Gasthof Christernreith. Crossing a meadow, we will come to a road leading to the Schranbachalm. Just before we reach it, we will switch to path No. 28 B and follow this – passing the Steinerne Mandln – to the Lohningalm. The hiking path leads us back to alpine road No. 445 / 28, which we will follow to the Hundstein and Statzerhaus (elev. 2,117 m). Our return route first takes us back along the same road, until we come to the turn-off towards Langeck. We will now switch to hiking path No. 28 C and follow this to the Thoraualm. If the lift is running, we can use it for our descent, otherwise we will hike on to the village of Hintermoos, where we will be picked up by the hotel shuttle.
